I think i sprained my ankle how would i be able to tell?!

I think i sprained my ankle how would i be able to tell?

I was swimming with my best friend and i jumped into the pull when i jumped into the air i guess i moved it the wrong way it hurt for a little bit after that then i didnt feel anything now when i walk around on it it feels wierd some times i dont have to walk on it it'l just start to feel wierd or numb or something what should i do? and how do i know if its sprained or not?

if you sprained your ankle you would be able to notice it. im 17 and playing soccer i always flatten my ankle. i have had many injuries of my ankles except broken and fracture and that numb feeling is problem a pinched nerve. when you jumped and moved your ankle the wrong way. i probably wasnt supposed to move that way and you might have gotten a nerve ending pinched by the movement. i would ice it, massage it, and give it a few weeks rest. if it still feels wierd consult your doctor. but dont consult him or her rightaway. just keep icing it for a few days or weeks with massage therapy of your own and relax it. after all thts about wat the doctor will tell you to do unless you get an MRI or X-rays.
