Answers:

There are many reasons why you may not be able to fall asleep. You may be mildly depressed or anxious about something, or your sleeping conditions may have changed, suchas you stayed up late on a night and altered your schedule. In your case it may either be the noise from the AC or the extra-cool temperatures. Either way, falling asleep is almost purely a mental issue. I know a couple techniques. (1) Relax your entire body and image putting your toes asleep. As soon as you "feel" them asleep, move up to your feet, then your lower legs, upper legs, etc. This is really just a form of meditation, but if it works, you won't even stay awake past your legs. (2) If you are an imaginative person, just make up a story in your head. The more you add to the story or act it out in your head, you'll just fall asleep. Your body needs rest, and it will get it any way. You may begin falling asleep during the day or being especially lethargic, but hopefully this will help.
