How long for recovery from torn meniscus and torn acl?!

Question: How long for recovery from torn meniscus and torn acl?
About 2 weeks ago i tore my acl and my meniscus, but it hurt pretty bad for a week bvut it feels almost fine, i just cant straighten my leg. But i got my MRI results today and the doc said i need surgery, and its next week. he said the recovery time is around 4-12 months which isnt a good estimate. What are your thoughts?
And how is the surgery gonna be?
Also i play baseball too, which im not gonna be able to play this season , do you think i will bve able to next year? and how is this gonna limit me in the future?

Answers:

my experience was after surgery i could not walk without a crutch for two weeks. after that i was walking well. after three months in PT i could start running. at 5 months i could do mostly everything but still no contact but could kick around the soccer ball and everything. at 6 1/2 i was playing soccer again. some people take more some people take less time. after surgery it is only bad the first 4 days after that its not to bad. just do all your rehab. next year youll be able to play. your future is perfectly fine.

Yeah, recovery time is anywhere from 9-12 months for that.

I tore my ACL playing soccer and was back playing in a high-level tournament 8 months after my surgery, although I wasn't 100% for another few months.

The surgery will put you on crutches for at least a few weeks, depending on what sort of ligament graft you get. The most surprising part is how much the muscles in your injured leg will atrophy in that time, since you won't be using them at all for awhile.

No, you won't play baseball this season. But depending on how your rehab goes, you'll probably be back next season. Just wear a good brace and you should be fine.
