My toenail is barely hanging on, should I remove it (cut it) or just let it grow out?

I was hiking and got a blister underneath my toe.

If you rip that sucker out its going to hurt like hell; most likely get infected; and worse-still force you to wear sandals for about six weeks.

If you cut it you will definitely catch it and... see above

Secure some gauze around it; keep it clean - very clean; and try not to catch it on anything. In a couple of weeks it will fall off by itself and a new one will grow back nice and shiny.
