Chalzaion that's lasted 5 months.?!
Question:
Chalzaion that's lasted 5 months.?
It's been there for 5 MONTHS. I'm so tired of it. It'll go down a little but not all the way. I do the compresses. I do the opthamological ointment. Nothing works. Plus I have no insurance. I had my first one 3 years ago and had it lanced and it was fine. Same eye though. What's causing this?! And how the heck do I get rid of it!?
Answers:
It is caused by inflammation of the meibomian gland (are a special kind of sebaceous glands at the rim of the eyelids,) usually on the upper eyelid.
Proper cleansing of the eyelid may prevent recurrences in people prone to chalazia. Cleaning the eyelash area with diluted baby shampoo will help reduce clogging of the ducts.
But if it isn't going away you may have to see your doctor. you may need to be injected with a corticosteroid or may be surgically removed using local anesthesia.
Good LUck hope this helps
