How far do you have to be dialated before the hospital admits you?
Do they go by how close together your contrations are or by how much you've dialated?
Answers:
Both. If your contractions are regular and increasing in frequency (511 rule: one contraction every 5 minutes for one hour) and strengthening and/or you are 4cm or more. If you're worried, call your doctor. S/He may want to see you in the office to confirm your progress. That's what happened to me.
