What causes muscle cramps?!

Question:

What causes muscle cramps?

Answers:

a majority of muscle cramps that are exercise/workout related are due to a combination of two things. an electrolyte imbalance and a buildup of lactic acids. If you are working out, make sure you stay hydrated. Profuse sweating causes the imbalance of electrolytes so if you drink water or even sports drinks you decrease the chances of getting the cramps. They sell energy drinks that have essential vitamins and minerals and those help too. Look for ones that contain GLUTAMINE. Glutamine is what bodybuilders use to reduce while working out. Lactic acid is released from cells during exercise. It is a natural body function. Just make sure you do a good warm up, dont strain too much and then dont forget an appropriate cool down along with proper breathing habits. You need to find out where your lactic acid threshold is and be able to work out just beneath that threshold to avoid cramps during the activity.
