What causes a unstable pelvis?!

Question:

What causes a unstable pelvis?

i have been diagnosed with a unstable pelvis. i am in pain but when it moves/shifts its agony. why does it do this?

Answers:

In the front of your pelvis there is a piece of cartilage called the "Symphysis Pubis" that is normally hard and fixed like the bone around it. In pregnancy your pelvis can become unstable due to hormones... they cause the symphysis pubis to soften, allowing your pelvis to move. A lot of women in pregnancy have knife-like discomfort right there on the pubic bone in front. Some women are just very achy in their hips and low back. If you aren't pregnant, I am wondering if you have a hormone imbalance. That little piece of cartilage is the only thing I can think of that would make your pelvis unstable. I'm just sort of thinking as I type here. Something is causing it to allow your pelvis to shift. It must be awful, I'm sorry. Hope you find relief soon.
