Answers:

you need to make an appt to see your dr.

the only way to clear up an ear infection is with antibiotics the dr will prescribe.

hearing loss is common with ear infections and colds b/c fluid builds up behind the ear drum. it is temporary and your hearing should be restored to normal once the infection clears up.

so make an appt to see your dr and in the meantime-try taking an over the counter nasal decongestant like sudafed pe or similar. these can sometimes clear out the fluid trapped behind the ear drum.

to help with sore throat

-use a warm mist humidifier in your room at nite to help keep the air moist and prevent your throat from drying out and becoming more sore.

-suck on hard candies or ice

-gargle salt water (2tsp of salt to 8oz water)

-drink warm tea w/honey (avoid lemon-the acid in it can hurt your throat)

rest as much as possible

hope you feel better soon!
