Why cant i get disability?

i am 43 yrs old and have worked since i was 15yrs 2 years ago i was in a auto accident and broke my back and neck. i broke the same bone in my neck that christopher reeves broke. i was blessed and i can still walk . i have to take morphine for the pain, i cant do any type of work because of the pain the docters put a big screw in my neck. i dont understand the system at all .

also i cant work at a desk because it makes the pain in my neck unbearable. when i get on the pc its with my laptop laying down

You must apply twice on your own...and be turned down. ( You will be turned down) Once that happens get a lawyer...they will get you your money. It's hardwork and a lot of paperwork...but you will get it. It usually takes at least 2 years. Good luck...try to figure out how to survive for 2 yrs while you wait...that is what they're hoping you can't do. If you do find work but can't support yourself with it...document everything.
