That depends on how he fell, was this playing and fell, fall out of a tree and scraped it against the trunk??? How old is he? We have scrapes and bruises like this all the time (I have amazing triage skills, thanks to being the mother of boys). If he is moving okay (but he may be a bit stiff), I'd suggest icing it, especially if it is just a scrape and not much blood. If he broke the skin make sure it's clean and put a bandage on it. A bag of frozen peas or corn are great things for bruises and scrapes.
If for any moment you think it is more serious than a scrape - call your doctor.
