Fentnalol patch Vs. Oxycontin pill?!

Question:

Fentnalol patch Vs. Oxycontin pill?

I know about oxycontin as i injured my back in my 20s, im 52 now. i know oxy causes bad constipation, is the patch just as bad in that department?

Answers:

Oxycontin will cause severe constipation because of the codeine in it.
Fantanol patches DO NOT contain codeine but do contain a slow release narcotic in the Morphine family.
Narcotic drugs will also cause constipation.

But the difference between oxycontin and fentanal is fentanol is obsorbed through the skin not the gut, so the constipation is less on this medication. But you will still suffer from it, but no where near as bad as your pills.

Increase the fibre in your diet. Include lot's of water and some excercise.
To start with you will need a little extra help with a strong prescribed laxative to move out all the faeces blocking the exit.
The Doctor prescibing a laxative is heaps better as you can be prescibed the really strong one's which you will need for a while.

Trying to break the constipation caused by codeine and get back into a more regular habit of using your bowels can take a while because of the length of time you have been on them.

The fentanol is a better choice also as it dosn't rot your gut and ruin your liver.

I never take anything with codeine in it for the constipation reason. It's so hard to become 'regular' again afterwards.

Good luck.
