Earlobe hurts badly Helppp?!

Question: Earlobe hurts badly Helppp?
I'm 14 and I got my ears pierced when I was like 1 years old. But now whenever I touch it it; it hurts or when I try to take my earrings out or put them in it hurts also. I don't think I have a cyst on it or in it or anything because just two weeks ago I had a cyst inside my ear but I got that treated.

Answers:

Try getting better quality earrings. I can only wear gold posts even though for the first few years I had pierced ears I didn't have problems with any kind of metal. The explanation that was given to me about it was that all the others (including stainless steel) can have a tendency to get microscopic pits where bacteria can collect which then infects your holes. Once I switched to 10karat or higher gold posts I haven't ever had a problem since, but every time I try a pair of the cheaper ones I get infections.

Try thoroughly cleaning your posts twice a day and see if that helps as well until the infection clears up. If switching to higher quality metal doesn't help you had better get a doctor or nurse to check you piercings out. Try JCPenney's for the gold post earrings they tend to have a good selection and if I track their sales I can get a nice pair for $10-$15. I know it's a lot more than the cheapo ones go for and it really does limit your choices, but it's been worth it to not have my ears hurt all the time.
