I had just such a fall about a year ago and it wound up that my coccyx was indeed fractured. I waited three days before seeing a doctor and the pain was no better. There's not a lot you can do for the damage, just time will heal it, but the doc had me take ibuprofen for the pain, he said that would also promote healing. It helped the pain a lot but it took about 3 months before it stopped aching completely. Oh, yes, and don't do any heavy lifting or straining yourself!
