I have an ankle that seems to swell annually...?
Two years ago (in July) my ankle and foot were swollen. I went to the doctor and they did x-rays but found nothing broken. Six weeks in physical therapy resulted in being sent back to the doctor because there was no improvement. After finally being sent to an orthopedist, they barely glanced at it and announced I had a torn tendon and it would heal on it's own. The swelling (and pain) eventually went away but now every summer it acts up again. I can always announce the beginning of summer when I start to feel the pain and within a week, the swelling begins. The pain seems to be on the outside of my foot but all the swelling is around the ankle. Any ideas to what might be causing this?
