Kickboxing injury, any advice?!

Question:

Kickboxing injury, any advice?

My left arm has been hurting for the past couple of weeks.
It's sore between my wrist and elbow and it hurts to lift heavy things, even a folder with paperwork is a struggle.
I was thinking of not training tonight to give my arm a rest, or should I have it checked?

I don't think it's fractured, I've been kicked on the arm a few times to block my face, will my body condition itself to get used to blocking the blows or should I really be seeing a doctor?

Answers:

Having been a martial artist for 25 years, I can tell you that, yes, your body will condition itself to handle the impacts.
Repeated heavy impacts like that will make you sore for awhile, especially when they're focused on one area ( like when you use one arm to do most of your blocking ). Learn to fight with either foot leading, so you can disperse the damage evenly, as well as being more unpredictable.
As for not training, it's up to you. If you stay home, rub some tiger balm on it to increase the circulation so it'll heal faster. If you train tonight, rub tiger balm on it, and learn to use the other side of your body. Either way, you'll benefit, and your arm will be better soon, I promise.
