Do you think my toe should be fine? Read description. I have no health insurance!

Question: Do you think my toe should be fine? Read description. I have no health insurance. So please don't say see doc.?
I am 36 and I wear a size 7 shoe. I was carrying a board out to the back of the drive way. This board was the top of a woodshop table before I took it apart. It felt like it weighed about 90 to 100 lbs. My dog weighs 60 and it's much heavier than her. Anyways, the porch light was off and I was going on the light from the street light. I set it down on its long edge and it started to fall. It looked like it had enough clearance but was kind of dark. So I didn't see that well. As it came toward me, it fell right on my foot and my big toe took all the weight.

It hurt like hell. My big toe is swollen. My nail is chipped but not blue. It has now been 24 hours. I'm quite sure I didn't break it since I can move it easily and there's no pain. Other than this, it still hurts to walk on it.

BQ- Are you suprised that I didn't break my toe? I am. I am grateful though.

Answers:

My guess is you could have deep bruising of the muscle. One of those heals with time injuries. Not too much a doctor could do for that anyways. My advice stay off your feet as much as you can, wear shoes that are not tight and ice it. Hope you feel better soon.

I think you did actually break your toe. Or at least you badly bruised it. Don't go to the doctor cuz all they do is give you a disgustingly ugly shoe thing and some ibuprofin and tell you to rest it. Just wrap your foot or don't wear tight shoes for a while.

Tumeric powder has healing capacity... Make a paste of turmeric powder & warm water. Apply on ur big toe ...it shud heal fast
