How is it possible to have a runny nose and be able to blow it for hours upon ho!

How is it possible to have a runny nose and be able to blow it for hours upon hours?

When you get a runny/ stuffy nose, how is it possible for you to never blow your nose enough to clear all the mucus out? Where does the mucus come from a gland??? Weird question I know....lol

In other words, how come you can't blow your nose enough to get rid of a stuffy/ runny nose?

I have Clartin and all that stuff....I'm just wondering where does all the snot come from....if you took the volume of snot my nose can produced compared to the size of my nose. It would be ridiculously large, where is the snot prior to entering my nose.

i have a severe cold right now and am awake at 5:30 a.m. because of this. i'm lying up with my tissues right under my arm. i have always wondered that same thing. often when i get a cold, i go throught two big kleenex boxes!! it just keeps coming out until that part of my cold goes away... i don't know where it all comes from, but i wish it wouldn't. :(
