My knee hurts after bending it wrong?!

Question:

My knee hurts after bending it wrong?

I got back from London today on a flight. Before getting on the flight, I was rushing around because I couldn't find my gate. While I was trying to run I felt my knee move funny. It hurt for a second but then I got on the plane and it was fine.

An hour later I began to get sharp, uncomfortable pains in my knee. I had to take Tylenol to make it go away.

I'm on land now but it feel like my knee has trapped in a big air pocket. It feels very stranged when I bend it back and forth...what should I do? Should I see a doctor?

Answers:

From the mechanism of injury you may have injured your meniscus (bumper pad in between your thigh and shin bones). I would recommend that if the pain doesnt go away in 2-3 days then going to see a doctor would be a good idea.
