Thrown out back i think??!

Question:

Thrown out back i think??

i was at gymnastics and was practicing fulls. to warm up, you do a back handspring, but kinda stop in the handstand position and pull in your arm and twist. well, i twisted and landed too soon i think and landed w/ my back arched really far back...and i think i heard something crack. i did this on friday, it is now tuesday and it still feels the same. it hurts REALLY bad and i dont know if i threw it out or what i did...but it hurts on the left side of the spine and there's a splitting/stabbing pain where it hurts--it hurts to even walk on my left leg cuz when i step, the pain kinda shoots through from the top of my spine down to my hip sorta. it feels so weird. i guess my question is how do i help this to stop hurting? will a massage help?? WHAT DO I DO???

Answers:

I would suggest visiting a chiropractor to check if you have damaged your spine in any way.
There is a possibility that you have fractured a bone in your back.
Throwing out your back usually doesn't result in a cracking sound.
It may be a combination of pulling a muscle in your back and having a pinched nerve.

What it most likely sounds like to me is that you've probably pushed your spin off center and it's stabbing into you flesh.
It could also be that when you heard the pop, your spin shifted, let a nerve get pinched, then popped back into place with the nerve stuck in it.

Go to a chiropractor to find out for sure.
Massaging can help, use some warming gel such as Bengay or Aspercreame.
