Is this a good excuse?

I had my tonsils out about a week and a half ago, (and I'm not so young anymore, so the older you are when you have them out - the harder it is to heal), and the pain medicene I'm on makes me irritable and paranoid, but I'd rather be on the "egde" than in pain. But, I do notice that people get frustrated with me because I've been SO irritable. Do you think I should use the medicene as an excuse for the way I'm acting or just apologize and be done with it?

the two meds they perscribed are as follows:
I know one is oxycodone and the other bottle says hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen oral solution 7.5 mg/500 mg (I think thegeneric equivalance id lortab elx)

What pain medicine are you taking? You could inform your Doctor of the reaction you are having and he can prescribe another type of pain med. for you that won't give you the reaction that you are having now.You could be allergic to something in the med. you are taking now and its causing a chemical unbalance in your brain.
