What's the best way for an unemployed individual with pre-existing conditions to!

Question:

What's the best way for an unemployed individual with pre-existing conditions to get health insurance?...?

I am about to no longer be eligible for insurance under my parents' health plan, but I need to be covered, especially for medications and mental health. I have had sever bouts of depression and other mental health issues that make it tough to work full time at the moment, and medications cost a lot even with good insurance coverage.

So how do I find insurance now? I'm concerned that I won't qualify for purchasing a new policy because of " pre-existing conditions". I know a person needs to have been working with a company a while before qualifying for benefits there. And I don't know that I'm in a bad enough place in terms of health that I'd qualify for overage dependent coverage.

How can I find health insurance? Any serious advice or stories about your personal experience will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answers:

Almost all policies will cover "preexisting conditions" as long as you have either been continuously insured or have had their plan for a while. So definitely take the time to read the fine print on independent insurance programs, and go to the websites of the manufactures of your drugs to see if they will give you your meds for free (if you're below the federal poverty level or unemployed, and have a health plan that won't cover your drugs most companies will provide them for you.)
