Whats the hard stuff the nurse put on knee infections?

I fell and scraped open just below my knee. The nurse put some stuff from a tube onto the injury since it was infected, I just had to take it off, and found out that its hard like a shell and it hurts like hell when I took the bandage and that stuff out. One piece broke off and it stuck there, gonna try to take it out later. Had me put on Bactroban on it.

I'm not 100% positive, but they "probably" put something similiar to neosporin on your knee. Try that.
