Knee problems?!

Question:

Knee problems?

I've been in the marching band for 3 years, and since I started, I've been having knee problems. Just recently, I woke up and I wasn't able to walk. I hadn't done anything to strain it (except maybe ride a bike?) and it's been hurting for 3 or 4 days now, and I can barely walk. Sometimes I can, but I have to go slowly.

It hurts in the inside, and feels tight. Also, the back of my calf hurts, and the outer side of my knee. Sometimes it's a sharp pain and sometimes its a burning sensation.

I went to the hospital and was told there was nothing wrong with the bone after they took X-rays. They took blood tests, but I haven't gotten the results yet.

They didn't tell me to stay off of it, (although I am, because it hurts) and also said something about ligaments.

Does anyone know what this might be?
and
What were the blood tests for?

Thanks! :)

Answers:

You have patellofemoral syndrome. I would recommend you go see an orthopedic doctor to have a look at your knees and get a referral for physical therapy. You are not gonna be able to treat this on your own without professional help.
