Why shouldnt you put put milk, butter, vinegar, tomatoes, ice, sunscreen on a su!

Question:

Why shouldnt you put put milk, butter, vinegar, tomatoes, ice, sunscreen on a sunburn?

Answers:

milk is a source of infection - if a burn does get infected this greatly increases scarring and the time it takes to heal.

butter - same deal - fats react and gives bacteria perfect food source and living environment.

vinegar the acid will damage newly forming cells and white blood cells trying to clear the place up. the acid prolly isn't strong enough to do that much damage to bacteria.

same reason as milk and vinegar combined - i'm sure it would hurt as well.

ice causes vasoconstriction - reduced blood flow, damaged tissue becomes further compromised and dies - the burn becomes larger - this is called burn conversion or the burn converts.

sunscreen - there are a lot of different ingredients in sunscreen, many of these will irritate the area further. plus it won't actually help.

cold water for 20 minutes then cover with cling wrap (synthetic skin) and go to a hospital. if no hospital then use paraffin wax or aqueous cream bp
