Too much sleep!?!

Too much sleep!?

Normally, I sleep about 10-13 hours a night is this normal? I have only been like this for a couple years Is it a sign of something? If I don't sleep at LEAST 10 (sometimes 11/12) hours I'm still really tired and its hard for me to get out of bed when I haven't gotten enough sleep I mean REALLY hard more then it should be

Lots of further questions on this. If you sleep 12 hrs do you feel okay? Has anyone commented on you snoring?
Do you awaken feeling stiff and sore? If the answers are no to all of these then yes you may be one of those people who need 10-13 hrs of sleep. We all need a different amount of sleep to be at our best. Some people need 6 hrs, others need 13 hrs, the comment that you see where we need an average of 8 hrs sleep is just that an average. The first thing to do is to rule out any kind of sleep disorder, from Sleep Apnea, to parasomnias to nocturnal seizures etc, if there is no indication of these then yes your need of 10-13 hrs of sleep is normal for you.
