has been that way after an injury in 2001....I am going to orthopedic to have another injection to assist witht he pain....What to do about this? I want to run...but right leg is weaker right now due to constant pain/numbing.

Ask your orthopedist about stretching exercise you can do that will help both to strengthen the area and help with the pain management. If he insists in just giving you periodic injections then I would visit a chiropractor. I have L5S1 disc herniations that occurred in 1992. After going through physical therapy and daily stretching, I began running and playing softball again after only 2 years. I still get pain but very rarely is it the same as at first.
