Muscle Spasms?!

Question:

Muscle Spasms?

Alright, this is driving me up a wall; for the last half of an hour my thumb has been twitching about an inch in towards my palm. It's really a big twitch. It even moves my mouse while I'm using the dang thing. Anyone know of anything to stop the muscles from contracting? Any home remedies or anything? Muscle relaxants are out, for obvious reasons, and I've already tried beating it, which for some reason I thought might help. Now I just have a bruised, twitchy thumb. Anybody got any ideas on how to stop this?

Thanks for the advice antje1, but that really isn't an option. I'm not on the computer for fun (well, I guess I am right now), but because I use a computer at work. I'll give the B12 thing a shot, though.

Answers:

Are you using your thumb to click?! You're actually supposed to use your index finger to left click and your middle finger to right click (assuming you don't use those crazy Mac mouses which only have one clicker); your thumb shouldn't be getting thaaat much of a workout.

Now that we don't know what's causing it, I say just duct tape your thumb to the rest of your hand. Only drink from cups that have a huge handle that you can stuff your whole hand through while the duct tape is on. I guess that gets you out of afternoon tea tomorrow. Cheers!
