My heel hurts. Been doing a lot of running lately and my heel has started to hur!


Question:

My heel hurts. Been doing a lot of running lately and my heel has started to hurt. Any idea what it is?

The very bottom. I didnt fall or anything so I am not sure what it is. And how can I make it better?


Answers:

It could be plantar fasciitis (see below for def.) If you have upped your exercise level you could have strained the plantar fascia, which according to webmd is the most common cause of heel pain.

You should definitely have it looked at. You have a number of small bones in your foot that you can break during increased activity (especially if you were doing cross-country running and took a misstep, etc...). In many cases, you can still walk and use the foot and not realize the bone is broken.
