Whats wrong with my tongue??
I had surgery last friday ( minor, but under general anestesia) and when I woke up my tongue was swollen and numb on one side. The nurse said it might have been irritated from the tube they placed down my throat. Well, by Saturday the whole side of my tongue on the front was one big sore all the way through from top to bottom. It looks perfectly round in shape with some whiteness in the center, but its very swollen and sore and if I press on it, its hard in the middle. Most of that side of my tongue is really red except the center of the sore. I'd call the Dr. but it's too swollen now to talk on the phone. Any idea what it could be???

I didn't call right away because the nurse said it would go away with time. Well, now it's Monday and much worse. I will probably have my neighbor call for me.

It could be an abcess of some type.Go to the doctors office in person if you have trouble speaking because of it.It really needs to be checked,it will only get worse,good luck.
