woke up and couldnt move?!

Question: Woke up and couldnt move?
well,
last night i went to sleep at 10 and woke up around 4. ( i normally don't wake up then.)
when i woke up i tried to turn on my radio but i couldn't move my arm. I thought it was just my arm but i couldn't sit up either. The only thing i could do was move my eyes.
When i moved my eyes towards my door i saw a demonic looking shape next to my bed.
As i started to blink frequently it looked as if it moved closer to my door.
(after about 5 minutes i could move again.)
Any one know what this could be?

You were having a nightmare. No demonic being was really there. The idea was triggered by your subconscious and you actually were still asleep like in a trance so you would remember it. It's called frozen in fear syndrome and usually happens in kids more than adults. Our oldest daughter had several episodes when she was a child and the doctor said not to wake her or it would do damage to her emotionally. Just to coax her back to bed. One time she was as stiff as a board and hiding behind her door. She wouldn't coax back to bed due to saying that the bugs were all over the bed. Only thing on her bed was blue roses and we had to strip her sheets off and change them to plain ones to get her back to bed. She doesn't remember any of it except she kept telling us the flowers on her bed were not bugs the next day. I do suggest you don't watch scarry movies right before bedtime. When we go to sleep we dream in level 3 and 4 of sleep. Deep sleep is level 5. We can't wake up when we dream but we can sometimes experience the dream so real that we actually see things that we believe are there and we will remember those dreams for long after we wake up. The mind is a very complex thing. The subconscious never sleeps so if the conscious isn't fully asleep it will allow the subconscious to take over and it cannot organize so it picks things from the memory banks randomly.... thus dream movies are created and they can be parts of anything we have ever heard or seen from childhood to adulthood. That is what happened to you. The reason you couldn't move was you were frozen in fear but the fear was all created by your subconscous mind to give you a good scarry movie. It worked.

Most likely a dream. you thought you where awake, but you where sleeping. Or maybe you where half awake.

It's possible that you woke up and couldn't move. When we sleep there's a chemical that stops are bodies from moving. But it's more likely that you where dreaming.

"Demonic looking shape". No. Our brains are wired to look for patterns. Problem is we see patterns that aren't really there. Like seeing clouds shaped like dragons.

Its sleep paralysis. When you go to sleep, your brain paralyzes your body so you don't act out your dreams. Your mind woke up before your body did, so to speak. Happens to me quite often, mostly because I get over tired, with lack of sleep....
