Yes, the Methadone is new to me, that's why I am asking. Afraid of what I am reading about it. Thank you!

oxycontin and methadone are both slow release opiates. thus are reasonably safe but if you OD you sleep for longer (heroin or morphine is a shorter sleep - effects where off quicker)

as far as less dangerous doesn't really work that way... these options exist for long duration pain relief - oxycontin has less nausea and itching associated with it but that is different for everyone.

these are dangerous drug as an OD puts you to sleep - thats why heroin users die - they stop breathing.

when used as directed both methadone and oxycontin are effective. i would only recommend oxycontin as it does not have the social stigma of heroin addiction/rehab that methadone does.
