Bad cut on the hand?

had to go to the er as cut hand and needed stitches. well dr never gave me any antibiotic and knew i was diabetic. now its infected. do i have recourse on this dr.

I went back , and this other dr. put me on a antibiotic and i let them know i felt and got the response well he must have thought you didn't need it not to put you on one. this hosp sucks big time.

I think from experience that this is one incompitent, stupid Doctor.
To NOT EVEN consider anti-biotics for a cut first off. But then not to even think out side his small brain that you are a diabetic and infections are more of a serious thing than non sufferers. He could have prescribed then just in case. It would have been no skin off his nose.

I would put in an official complaint, in writing, to the hospital concerned about his incompitence. That's about all you can do.

But go back to the ER with the infection and let ALL the staff know that this is a result of failure of one of their own to think and act occurding to your individual needs and health.
