Has anyone with back problems found seeing a rheumatologist beneficial?!

Question:

Has anyone with back problems found seeing a rheumatologist beneficial?

i get a bad lower back quite often and really achey hamstrings, would it be worth me going to see one? how do they help you?

Answers:

I found the rheumatologist of no help at all.

The orthopaedic consultant was of more help, he did the Bone Scans, MRI's etc. and was able to tell me what was wrong etc.

It might be worth you looking in that direction first.
