What is cervical sponclyhtic?!
Question:
What is cervical sponclyhtic?
I have terrible pain in the right shoulder and x-ray shows tissue growth between cervics 4c-6 of the neck. Suspect cervical sponclytic (NOT SURE OF SPELLING).
Answers:
Could be spondylosis...or disc degeneration (a common finding), or spondylolysis where a fatigue fracture has occured on part of the vertebrae. However, since we are talking about the neck, it is most likely disc dengeration (spodylosysis is more likely to happen in the low back).
An MRI may be more indicative of the problem, but I would first suggest going to a PT with MDT experience before having to make a co-payment on a $5,000 test when an MDT therapist is as 90% accurate for detecting the presence of disc displacement.
