Answers:

You should not change the jewelry until the piercing is fully healed, and I'm going to take it a step farther and tell you why.
When a piercing helas it forms a fistula, this is in essence a tube of healed skin around the jewelry (just look at anyone with streched ears when their jewelry is out and you'll see what I mean), while the piercing is forming the fistula, it is very delicate and every time you change the jewelry before it is fully healed you damage the fistula thus extending the healing time. In addition to this professional piercers use pre-sterilized jewelry that has been autoclaved, replacement jewelry has not been sterilized in any way no matter how new it is (unless you had your piercer or doctor sterilize it). Just imagine your shiny new piece of jewelry being made by a sweaty worker in a factory who forgot to wash his hands after he peed, and if it has not been sterilized by means of autoclave or by a medical grade chemical sterilizer (not alcohol) then why would you insert it into an unhealed piercing as any bacteria or germs will be trasferred directly into your blood stream.
When the piercing is healed you should still clean "new" jewelry with a liquid antibacterial soap and water before inserting it as you never know who touched it while packaging it or making it.
If I scared you, I'm sorry but I thought you should know why you shouldn't change the jewelry yet. It's a health risk, and will make your piercing take longer to heal.
