I am going to an eye doctor soon and I am wondering what to expect when visiting!

Question:

I am going to an eye doctor soon and I am wondering what to expect when visiting one.?

I am 10 years old and I was wondering about glasses. I am very respondsible when it comes to taking care of myself but I am not sure if its better for me to get contacts, glasses, or both. I am not used to glasses, because on tv some people looks dorky in glasses and I'm to scared to look like a dork. I cannot see from about 5-10 feet ahead from me. I just told my dad about it and I looked for my medical insurance. I am looking forward to contacts but I am not sure my dad would not allow of it. Please help answer at least one of it. Would it be better to have contacts for a 10 year old or is it better off to wear glasses or both just in case something happens to my contacts. My second question is "What would happen on/at my trip to the eye doctor?"

Answers:

Glasses increase you're vision slowly. While contacts and night-lenses don't.For a ten year old, better off with glasses.

And,on your trip to the eyedoctor, you will look through some machine(it doesn't hurt)and that will tell hwo bad you're eyes are.The doctor will look at you're eyes and you may need to look around for the doctor to examine your eyes.It doesn't hurt really.
