My left arm is feeling numb / weak?!

Question:

My left arm is feeling numb / weak?

For about the last 2-3 weeks my left arms has been feeling numb and / or weak. I'm left-handed so i use this arm a lot for most things from writing to eating. most of the time, i rest my left elbow on the arm of my desk chair, and on the driver's side part of the door that has the window controls in my car. two weeks ago, i slept on the floor for two nights at my friend's apartment. i usually sleep on my stomach with my left arm under my pillow. i didn't *notice* the weakness and numbness until about a week ago, so it could have been an issue for longer. also, my arm is feeling a tad bit numb and rather weak right now, and the only thing i can think that i have done to cause it today is washing a lot of dishes that have been sitting in my sink for a while.

any ideas of whats causing this? or should i just go ahead and go to a doctor to get them to check it out?

Additional Details

i've been looking around the internet for symptoms and i'll go ahead and add this: i have no additional pain, numbness, or weakness anywhere else in my body. i have no pains in my abdomen, nor weakness, numbness, or spasaming in my left left.

the weakness and numbness is located mainly in my forearm (especially on the left bottom side including my entire pinky finger and left half of my ring finger) from my elbow down

my blood pressure is pretty normal, usually staying around 120/70. my pulse is normally around 80.

Answers:

yep I've had that happen. you just strained important small muscles in your arm. my advice to you is to talk to a doctor and see about physical therapy. kinda weird theres no pain. good luck.
