Question: I was wondering do shin bones heal? some guy skateboarded into my shin & there is a deep dent in my shin bone?
so i was wondering will this dent eventually disappear or will the dent remain there forever

Answers:

your bones actually regenerate..but you were injured & built up scar tissue also..the dent will remain, how it covers up is only a matter of time;; I was one when younger to consistently hit the same darn shin @ the same darn place all the time..I've still got a dent but you can only tell if you stroke your fingers over it..not evident to sight...your bone was chipped, damaged..the extent of the damage & the extent of the healing process will deliver the outcome..but this is not abnormal...& btw, there is so little tissue involved in the front of your shin that it's truly not the tissues that were dented, but they still will build up scar tissue from the initial injury...if you can take the skin & try to wiggle it off the bone, you'll have a better chance of that not causing some mild complications in the future..it's called 'cross friction massage' & it helps defray the excessive scar tissue build-up..(makes the skin move over the bone & not attach to the bone)..hope this all makes sense, but good luck, truly no big deal...just another memory reminder of your past...

that deep dent is the skin and muscle around your shin bone. your bones do not bend, they break for the most part.

now of there is a Really big dent(we talkin your shin is not straight, and it's in Super pain, so much you can't stand on your feet atall, sounds like you broke your shin bone.

otherwise, if it Hurts Really bad, but you can stand on it and such, take some ibprophin and put a cold pack on it and watch a good movie

Bones are constantly being renewed so should recover completely. What you may be seeing is the indentation on your shin skin; that is another story. I have some tiny scars/indentations on my shin skin surface that I believe will remain until I pass away. They have been there for so many years I do not care to recall how many. Guess you will just have to live with the indentation; it will fade and be less obvious with time though.
