Nail biting?

how do i stop biting my nails. ive tried basically everything. Can hypnotherapy be the solution.


Answers:

Nail biting is just like any other habit. If you want to stop you just got to decide to stop.

Take note of when and why u start biting your nails. So that you can avoid it next time. When ever you have an urge to bite them.

Stop, press your thumb and middle fingers together and go do something else. (ill explain why later)

Wash you hands, brush your teeth, write down something, draw (doodle), grab a deck of cards and play solitaire, sit and answer peoples questions on here. You get the point do anything that will occupy your hands.

Same as you mouth, chew some sugar free gum, phone a Friend and talk with them, sip some water or fruit juice, eat something (something healthy!) cut up an apple or carrot and nibble at that)

The whole point of doing this is to break the habit by doing something else, this will take a while and can be quite difficult but it can be done.

Pressing your thumb and middle fingers together may seem strange but its a conditioning technique. It will become associated with you stopping, eventually that's all you will have to do to interfere with your habit. (I learned that from Paul Mckenna when i did his confidence program)

If you find yourself biting your nails. Don't worry you haven't failed. Just be aware of it. stop straight away and go do something else.

Hypnosis can also help if anything it will be good for your mind and body as its a time when u can completely relax for 30Min's or so. :-)

Its hard to break a habit any habit but will power is really an amazing thing. With it you can do anything.

You can also apply this stuff to just about any habit. After all its all about changing your habits.
