What do these symptoms mean?!

Question:

What do these symptoms mean?

My brother has:

- a sharp pain above his left leg
- it hurts to walk and lay down
- it hurts to breathe in too much

Could this be appendicitis?

Answers:

psoas minor syndrome is easily mistaken with appendicitis. if you think it's appendicitis you should get to the dr. the appendix is on the right side low abdomen but if infected can refer pain to another part of the body.

also could be a strain or sprain of the psoas muscle, which is deep in the abdominal muscles, blending with iliacus. these muscles are often refered to as a unit, and called iliopsoas. it attaches to the last rib, under the diaphragm and runs all the way down to the inner thigh. if strained it could be painful to put pressure on it ( as in walking) or to straighten (as in lying down). it is a real stretch to say it would affect breathing, but this muscle does attach near the lungs.
