My 3yr old is recovering from a broken elbow but i think the Dr messed up........?
she dislocated the bone below the elbow from the elbow and had to undergo surgery, the doctor placed 2 pins in the elbow and she was in a cast for 2 1/2 weeks.....she recently had it removed but i noticed that she can't lay her arm straight ( it's stuck in the "L" position.....she trys her best to straighten it out but no luck......is that normal or does it sound like the doctor messed up...??? i also feel a disturbing lump just above the elbow in the inner part of her arm...what should i do? ( and yes i have a follow up appointment in 3 weeks)

It will be a while before she can put her arm in the position you describe and she has pins in her elbow. Unless they take those pins out you may be able to feel them. My dad had pins in his wrist and elbow and his arm will never be normal as all of his wrist bones are floating inside his arm. Since you are concerned though call the surgeon on Monday and ask his nurse to address your concerns with the doc and call you back.
