Need direction post meniscus tear repair?!

Question:

Need direction post meniscus tear repair?

I had surgery 70 days ago. My doc does not believe in PT or returning phone calls. He said return to normal activity after 60 days. I went on an exercise bike and now have pain. Where to next ? Rest ? Chiropractic ? Personal Trainer ? Pt in NJ is by prescription only.

Answers:

The first thing you need to do is to find a new doc. Look for MD that specialized is sport medicine. Get a new assessment. Many MD are their just for the money and surgery is the most profitable solution for them. I had a tear and surgery was not the first line of treatment solution from my MD. With rest, PT and personal training I avoided surgery, however that was my case. Each case is different when it comes to meniscus tear. Many factors had to be consider (age, type of tear, pain tolerance, etc.) when it comes to this type of injuries. Again you need a reassessment before moving forward. Definitely a combination of modalities will be key for recovery.
