Help with constipation and gas pains?!

Question: Help with constipation and gas pains?
My girlfriend frequently seems to get "gas pains" in her stomach, and usually with Gas-X and a massage from yours truly, it seems to go away..but today we aren't having much luck. Awhile after taking Gas-X, she felt a little better, but the pain is still there and she just feels bloated. She seems a little constipated as well, but it seems if I massage her while she sits on the toilet, it gets things things moving a little and shes able to release some gas and have a small bowel movement. Is it a bad idea to massage her, I don't want to hurt anyhting. What else can I do for her? She doesn't want to to take anything else. Is there any good positions she could get into to help?

Answers:

Yes, it's good to massage her GENTLY! it gets the bowel movement going... Since she has digestive problems (constipation), her body isn't absorbing all the nutrients from the food she eats. and a deficiency in magnesium, vitamin B12, and iron causes constipation (you can google it up, if you don't believe me or just want more info about it). so make sure she gets enough of these nutrients (she might want to take a magnesium supplement and a vitamin B-complex supplement). Probiotics also help against constipation. Probiotics are the good bacteria found in most yogurts and can be also gotten from probiotics supplements. another reason why she might have constipation, is that her body isn't alkalized. (google it, if you don't know what it is). alkalinity deals with what someone's PH levels is (how toxic someone's body is).. we all get toxic, from the unhealthy foods we eat with preservatives, sugar, unhealthy grease, etc... she should eat more alkalizing foods (google which ones are). for instance, lemons are very alkalizing! she should freshly squeeze a lemon and pour in into a glass of water and drink every morning. she should eat healthy (have some low fat plain yogurt) and chew her food well. she NEEDS to drink more water!! other things that help the digestive system: 100% aloe vera juice, peppermint tea, evening primrose oil, flaxseed oil, and probiotics! if all else fails, she might want to do the master cleanse (colon cleanse)...... google any of the information I gave you for more info!

personal experience & I research ALOT about nutrition!!

This is a matter of diet. That's not normal. She needs to eat more fiber first off. Then she should also consider things like Lactose Intolerance, that happens to me. Also she should consider the possibility that she has siliacs disease.

what if she tried chewing her food more? that may sound silly but it really makes a huge difference. they talk about 30 to 100 chews per mouthful. i used to have a lot of stomach trouble - not in the same way but it's made an enormous difference and i remember reading that it also helps with the elimination of gas since something to do with the saliva and air required to chew helps with gas reduction (possibly on the hip chicks guide to macrobiotics blog if you want to look it up).

and does this need to be said? you are all sorts of awesome for helping your gf like this. thumbs up to you.
