My little sister just got crutches and is really bummed. How can I decorate them!

Question:

My little sister just got crutches and is really bummed. How can I decorate them to cheer her up?

They are just standard crutches and she's in junior high, not some little kid you can please with a package of stickers. How can I make it look appropriate for wherever she has to go?

They are metal crutches and she wants something "cool" but my parents still want her to be able to take them to church and have them look nice. Is there a place that makes covers for the handles and pads?

Answers:

I'm not sure that there is any way of making crutches look "cool"...They're ugly things that will get people's attention no matter what.

However, you could always use some of these ideas to make them less boring:

- Get different colored duct tape and make designs on them
- Stickers are always fun,and they don't have to be little kid ones. What about getting some scrap book stickers, like letters, you could put her name on them and stuff...
- Wrap them in crepe paper
- Sharpies can be your best friend since they write on absolutely everything
- Get some acrylic paint and make some art
- Use some rhinestones and hot glue them onto the crutches for some style

As for a place that sells covers for the handles and pads, there is http://www.brokenbeauties.com - If you are just looking for covers for the handles and pads, their "crutch buns" will be just perfect!

Hope that helps!
