Twisted ankle side effects?!

Question:

Twisted ankle side effects?

About 4 years ago i went hiking and while on the trail i twisted my ankle, and had to walk back 3 miles on it (not kidding unfortunatly), then about 2 years ago i twisted the same ankle playing *sigh* badminton. Now sometimes if i keep it in one positon like when im sitting and then i stand up, it feels like it wasnt in place or something and it hurts to walk on it for about 1 minute or so, is this cause i twisted it, or just cause it was in a weird position? It doesnt happen all the time, just occasionally.

Answers:

What you're feeling is two things:

1. The pain that most joints would feel when placed in a sustained unnatural position.
2. Probable evidence of scar tissue within the joint itself.

Some (certainly not all) massage therapists, particularly Professional Rolfists, are highly skilled at working the scar tissue to re-orient itself so the healing can be completed. Much scar tissue is a result of the body rushing to restore function to a critical joint, but with proper care and patient restoration, it can often be virtually completely restored to its original health.

I had a Soft Tissue Therapist work on me for a while. Most notably, he fixed a problem I'd put up with on my upper back for 4 years -- and he fixed it in 15 MINUTES, lol.

Find a therapist who has experience with rehab and injuries, because if they are not comfortable or experienced in this area, more harm than good can result. But under proper care, you'll be amazed.

Often the quickest route to healing is information -- I hope this info helps... :)
