I play soccer and i played for three hours in new cleats, bad i dea i know well the blister formed and tore open, but i had a tournament 2 days later so i just cleaned it and pt a bandaid over it, then taped and bandaged it in each of my three games that weekend, then i had a camp this week so i have been bandaging it every dayso now it has been rubbed so raw that it is almost a deep cut what should i do?

Answers:

At this point lets make sure there is no infection, look for redness, striations and discharge. Keep the site "soft" with ointment, this helps to prevent the scab from tearing and prolonging the healing process.
As for the blister, assuming that the shoes are a correct fit and properly broke in, we need to reduce the amount of friction to the area. You will need to go beyond the band-aid method. there is a product called "Moleskin". It is a soft, "velvety", tape with very Strong adhesive. Put a small patch inside the shoe. This will help reduce the friction of the heal sliding inside the shoe. Consider protecting the wound with a foam "dough nut" pad. This will also redirect pressure to the surrounding area. If yo have someone "taping" your ankles for support, make sure they are using a heel pad with lube on it. If the problem continues, and the wound does not show significant progress in a week, seek medical attention and have the shoes examined by a knowledgeable shoe fitter.
