Back straightening tips???

I have such a horrible habit of slouching when I sit (whether at work, home, etc.) & now it's starting to affect me when I go to do stuff. (i.e. causes my back to hurt after a little while)

Does anyone have any good tips/suggestions on ways or things I can use to train or remind myself to keep my back straightened when I sit?

I can't sit all the way back in my chair either (especially at work) cause it's stupid & leans back a little. This prevents me from being able to reach things cause I'm not exactly the tallest person in the world lol. I'm only 5'4" (I don't have the money to buy a new chair at home or the authority to get a new one at work either.)

Imagine that there's an invisible thread holding your head to the ceiling (this sounds stupid but really works if you try) so that you will sit up straight. And don't forget to give yourself incentives for sitting up straight for extended periods of time, like a shopping trip or a chocolate bar; whatever floats your boat. Also, after your back hurts, stretch it a bit by bending your back backwards or reaching your arms to the sky. Another exercise you can do is to start by kneeling on the ground, bending your back backwards, and holding that position while using your hands to hold your ankles for 30 seconds or one minute. It's an excellent maneuver to strengthen your back, and you should also try yoga, which is relatively inexpensive as it doesn't require much equipment other than a mat, or look for specific moves that target your back/shoulder muscles, because weak muscles aren't long enough to support good posture. If the above doesn't work, you should contact a doctor to see if you may have a form of back curvature or scoliosis, and their advice or a brace could help.
