Answers:

I must apoligise in advance for a long answer but I bet this will help your problem!

I would suggest a chiropractor (DC) . They will open the nerve in the neck (yes the NECK!!!) that is pinched and causing the wrist to hurt. A Medical Doctor (MD) will tell you that the carpal tunel is closing and you need lots of expensive pills and then probably surgery. (The carpal is closing because of a pinched nerve in the neck.) Hold your left arm across in front of you, (upper arm handing straight down from the shoulder) palm against your body ( finger tips touching the ribs on the right side)... reach across with the right hand palm against the left arm... fingers pointing out, ( right fingertips touching the elbow) the thumb will be very near the top of the forearm... ( natural position for the thumb if the fingers are pointing out and touching the elbow) about where the thumb lies you will likely find that the muscle in the forearm, (top of the forearm) very near the bend in the arm will be tight and sore. Massage that muscle several times a day and you will get some relief.

I was convinced to go to a Chiropractor (after the pills and threat of surgery) and he solved my cramped, dead, could not button a shirt button or hold a pencil, wrist for the price of a month's worth of those crappy pills that always left me with a buzz and a wrist that still did not work after two months!)

Keep in mind that the reason that this happened is a muscle imbalance and it will take several Chiropractic treatments to get things back into balance.

I was also told by my DC that if you don't feel any better after one or two treatments be sure to let them know. They will change the treatment to assure results. If still not better you may have to visit another DC. Just like everybody in life there are different ways to treat a problem and the first DC may not work as well as another.

Besides most people end up with the same carpal problem after 1 or 2 years because the surgery only solved the symptom and not the problem. People that seem to have good success usually have changed the lifestyle that caused the problem to start with. In your case I would guess that throwing a ball worsens the problem. ( I would bet that you are left handed!) If you get surgery and no DC adjustments you will have problems again after a few months. Stop playing ball (forever) and the surgery will work! Hmmmmm... get a DC adjustment and you can still play ball and just get adjusted once in a while! Better plan!!! ???
