Is it bad?!

Question:

Is it bad?

Okay, I know this sounds kinda stupid but whatever.
Why is cutting so bad? I mean if it isn't a deep cut or anything, isn't it just like getting a paper cut? I don't cut or anything, and I never will, but I saw the girl that cut on Degrassi and I was just wondering. I know it's stupid but whatever! haha! thanks!

Answers:

Actually, your question is not stupid, and I commend you on asking rather than assuming how a cutter might feel or what they are thinking. Well, a paper cut is usually accidental. With any cut, it can get infected, which isn't that grand. And if other cutter's were like me, I did not want to take care of the cut, I actually reopened the cuts multiple times, because I was unable for the physical pain to heal when the emotional was still like an opened wound. Although some people that cut, might clearly say, "I would never cut deep." In the moment, can they really be sure? If someone cuts by themselves, and something happens, how long will it be before they might get help, or will they even be able to be helped? For me . . . Why is cutting bad . . . because there is always a deeper reason. And sometimes the cuts end up being all someone else focuses on. Friends and people of support can only see the outside and sometimes neglect to help the inside heal. They mean well, but they (in my experience) initially want the cutting to stop, taking away what I used to cope, making the internal battle much more intense and sometimes the secrecy to increase.
